David

David Merwin

Founder & Managing Partner

David has 25 years experience in M&A, operations and corporate leadership. After an early career with NCR and EMC, in 2001 he helped found a silicon valley startup, Cloudshield Technologies, in the network security industry. He founded Muirfield Meadow Ventures in 2003 through a series of 5 acquisitions of for-profit, education institutions. As CEO of the portfolio companies, David and his team achieved growth goals through integration and synergistic optimization, before selling the portfolio in 2018.

David is now Founder and Partner of Creekstone Capital Group. David has an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. David is currently a part-time professor in the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business where he teaches M&A Finance in the MBA Program.

John

John Ezzell

John is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience, having held key positions such as Director for Oracle Corporation’s Custom Development, Architecture, and Business Intelligence divisions. Known for fostering customer and team member loyalty, he left Oracle in 2004 to establish BIAS Corporation, which rapidly became a leading Oracle technology systems integrator and managed services provider. There, he built consultant teams focused on addressing customer pain points and developed an extensive library of Oracle reference customers.

Under John’s leadership, BIAS Corporation achieved remarkable success, growing to 400+ employees, and multiple global offices. They achieved an unprecedented 76% Net Promoter Score and earned the title of “Oracle Global Partner of the Year” among 28,000 competitors. In 2022, in a successful exit, he sold BIAS to Deloitte.

Kyle

Kyle Anderson

Kyle is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance and M&A. Prior to joining CCG, Kyle was the Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Mativ (NYSE: MATV), a publicly traded $2 billion global leader in specialty materials. At Mativ, Kyle focused on developing and executing the company’s long range strategy, leading areas such as global mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, footprint optimization efforts, strategic business expansions, and transformation initiatives. He also was responsible for the company’s debt and capital structure, including a recent a $400 million bond issuance, banking relationships, and global treasury operations. Over the course of his 20+ year career, he has held a number of diverse and progressing leadership roles covering M&A, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Financial Services (AR, AP, Payroll, Credit), Cost Accounting, and Investor Relations.

Kyle has extensive experience in M&A, having completed over $4 billion in M&A transaction value across 15+ transactions (global and domestic), including merger-of-equals, carve-outs, family transactions, auctions, spin-offs, and property sales. Kyle received his undergraduate degree with honors from Tulane University and his MBA with honors from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, where he also serves as a guest lecturer.
